Why does the app work offline at all?
So you can prepare tally sheets where there is no signal — a forest, yard, port or remote mill — and have them sync automatically when you’re back in network. That’s why only a limited set of features works offline.
Can I use LumberLinq offline in a web browser?
No. Offline mode only works in the installed app (Android or iPhone).
What exactly works offline?
Stock Units with their tally sheets (last 90 days, all open ones, and any you chose to Keep offline), Business Partners, Products and Locations (full lists), the dropdown lists, and your dashboard numbers from the last sync. You can create and edit Stock Units, tally rows, Business Partners, Products and Locations offline. See the User Manual for the full table.
Why can’t I open Inventory, Consignments or Reports offline?
They need live data from the server every time. You’ll see a “Needs a connection” page, and the app takes you back to that screen automatically once you’re online.
An older Stock Unit is missing offline — how do I keep it?
Online, open the Stock Units list, tap the row’s menu (⋮ or ⋯) and choose Keep offline. It’s saved on your phone right away.
Why is a photo or document missing offline?
Only the newest 10 Stock Units’ files are saved automatically. Any other file is saved once you’ve opened it online. Files not opened for 30 days are removed to save space (they download again when you open them online).
How do I know my changes were sent?
Look at the cloud button next to the notification bell: a plain cloud means everything is saved; ”☁ 3” means 3 changes are waiting; an amber ”⚠ 1” means one was refused (tap it to open Sync Issues). Tap the cloud to see when you last synced, or to Sync now.
Why can’t I log out?
You have changes waiting and no internet. Logging out always syncs first, so no work is left behind. Connect to the internet and log out again — the app sends your changes, then logs you out.
The app says “Offline for too long” — what happened?
Your phone was offline for more than 15 days while it still had changes waiting. Your changes are safe. Connect to the internet (log in again if asked) and choose Yes to send them, or No to delete them. Either way you are then logged out.
Someone else used my phone and now my offline changes are gone — why?
A phone keeps offline data for one person at a time. When a different person logs in, the previous person’s unsynced changes are removed from the phone, and that person is told on their next login. Always check the cloud button shows everything synced before handing your phone to someone else.
When can offline work be lost?
Only when: you delete refused changes yourself; you answer “No” after the 15-day lock; someone else (or you into another company) logs in on the phone before your changes synced; or the phone is lost, reset, or the app’s data is cleared before syncing. Anything already synced is always safe.
My item shows on the Sync Issues page — what do I do?
It shows why it failed. For a name clash on a Product or Location, rename it and retry. For “the server kept failing”, press Try again. Otherwise you can delete it — it was never saved on LumberLinq.
Can I use LumberLinq on iPhone?
Yes — App Store. The iPhone app is sign-in only: create your account on app.lumberlinq.com or in the Android app first.
Can I send a file from WhatsApp to LumberLinq when I have no signal?
Yes, on the Android app: share it to LumberLinq and choose where it goes. The file waits on the phone (up to 12 hours). The screen you choose then uploads it with that screen’s usual rules; anything that needs the internet waits until you are back online.
